So yesterday I upgraded my 1927-D DDO-001. I found this one at a variety dealer's table in Baltimore, and we came to a fair price. Neither of us knew it at the time but it is the PCGS CoinFacts major plate coin, which is a bonus. What we did know is that it is POP 3/0 with none in MS65 in any category so pretty darn sure this is my final upgrade for this one. The last photo is an extra just to show that the 2 is notched on the left, top and bottom. Could be a master die for the date but was kinda neat seeing that notching when going over the coin. 1927-D/D Lincoln Wheat cent doubled die - DDO-001, RPM-001, FS-501 MS64BN POP 3/0

That's a real beauty! I imagine it will be pretty darn difficult to find an upgrade for this one. Great closeups and the plate coin is a bonus for sure. Congrats!

Fantastic find. Gorgeous color.
And seeing that notching on the 2 for this variety is a first for me.

Thanks for all the kind words! The dealer had a lot of varieties, as he always does, but this time I found one that really slid into place. And the RPM itself is definitely in my top 5 favorites, so just a nice addition all around.
