1969-D Lincoln Cent - Clipped? - Coin Community Forum

Maybe you meant to ask if this is Post Mint Damage, two totally different things. As far as this being a clipped planchet created at the Mint, I am going to say it's not. I say this because of a host of reasons but the one key factor I see in your photos is the curvature of the raised rim of your coin directly below and next to the L in LIBERTY. If this was a true straight clip, from the Mint, I the rim of the coin should cleanly terminate and end as opposed to curve into the field of the coin. In addition, the extra straight "line" you see in your picture protrudes beyond the edge of the coin. This also could not happen with this coin being struck in collar. Just my HO here.
