Help With Olympic Coin/Medal (Id: Private Issue Commemorative Medal)

Please post weight and diameter. Also, how did you acquire it, from where etc. Any inscription on the edge? These details may help identification. Is it magnetic?

As suggested, weight, metal content, etc would help. I'd guess if it came in that display case, it's not a coin but something round and shiny a coin company had privately struck and sold it as a commemorative medallion (can't call it a coin if it's not legal tender in a sovereign country) along with a display case, certificate of authenticity and story card for 5-10 times the spot price.
Isn't there any info on the paperwork? The U.S Mint didn't issue anything like that for the Atlanta Olympics.

Hmm, this was a tough one to find anything on. The best I can do is that there is another copy of this medal for sale on the yahoo taiwan auction site tw.bid.yahoo. While I don't have access to this website, you should be able to get there using the keywords "citius altius fortius" AND "hold the moment".

Thickness: 3mm
Weight: 35.85g

Edges are milled, no inscriptions.

From the weight and dimensions, it could be silver, and possibly plated or clad with gold, i.e. similar to an Olympic Gold medal. Unfortunately I have no way of verifying.
