Usually when I hear greysheet, I cringe because the price always seems high (in my eyes). There's no harm if you get coins under greysheet because the dealer makes money, you make money, and everyone's happy. You just can't expect to get as many coins, as the deals don't turn up everyday. I also find ebay's prices are a tad high as a retail setting, you can find better deals at shows and shops.

Ebay's pricing is for sure too high typically.

But of course you can find deals there as well.

Numismatic student- It's obvious you also don't belong to a coin club. You will get great deals there and get coins back of greysheet all the time.
You realize when you know how to think, it empowers you far beyond those who know only what to think.

I do belong to a coin club and they have monthly auctions with a 5% auction premium to support the club, pay for donuts, coffee and the holiday party. Generally they don't have any material that I am interested in but it is cool to hang out with people that have been collecting for a long time and are very knowledgeable. It does feel like I'm st s nursing home and sadly people pass away more often than I find comfortable. Haven't been to a meeting since the pandemic started. I would feel awful if I made someone sick.

I feel special then.

My coin club doesn't have premiums of any sort, and when auctioning it is nowhere near retail.

It's always back of greysheet and if it were retail there would be nothing but scoffs.

You guys are both lucky. I have no special auctions or club of any sort. I know of a single club in my area and they are doing zoom calls. CCF is my coin club
