Hello,

This is the gift that got me interested in old coins.

It is about 11g and 12mm and AE I believe (not the most accurate scale/measuring tape)

Any ideas? I can try and take better pictures but these were the best I could get so far.

It's a Roman provincial coin From Alexandria, can't quite make out the legend, however I think it might be Macrinus.

Also if you check out the Books, downloads and websites section you will find lots of information on ancient coins.

Pretty sure above the portrait is KΛAYΔIOC, so Claudius II Gothicus. Reverse is Elpis, Year 2 (B) so 269 AD
