Both are what I'm looking at, but I'm skeptical of the tone. I've no experience on what's a good tone or not. What do you think? Top is 1945 for 28, bottom is 1941 for 20 they're asking.

Good toning is subjective. Some like a brilliant rainbow toning, while others like no toning. To each their own.

Regarding the prices, you can pick up BU common date Mercury dimes for $5-$10 a piece. These prices you listed are high, and these coins look dipped. I would pay $3 each for these personally.

Common dates AU grade coins with over expose lights hiding defects, and making them look gem quality.
Go to your local coin shows and you should do better in prices.

What's the best dates to look at for the Mercury dime? Once I find a seller that y'all like their coin I start searching through the rest of their stuff. These two were random. Thanks a bunch

Pics of the '41 aren't sharp enough to evaluate.

Don't really know what dipped means or how to look for it either. Explain please.

50 is as high as I can go. I can try retaking the pictures and go that route.

You need to filter your light source and focus a bit more.

I'm 99% sure The 45-S is a micro s and in the overall condition of that coin which in my opinion is at least MS-65 and maybe higher . $28 is a sin , worth much more . I can't get A good feel on the 41-S .

T-BOP can you go view my other post? Another dime. Similar to the 45 here, I couldn't find that 1945, I think someone bought it.

That could be a micro S indeed, but I would like to see better picture to give a fair grade.
