Hello everyone , I aquired some time ago this large lot of rolls of wheat pennies and nickels... I really work with antiques in Lima Peru , but I have always had a preferance for coins , thesee I purchased from another merchant , they belong to an italian collector living in the docks of Callao in Peru.
Question for these is pretty general but I'm sure will have many types of answers , I havent opened these rolls , what kind of varieties or errors should I be looking for , and if in any specific year?

Well, the Jefferson nickels you have are all either key or semi-key dates and all are worth a good amount over face value with the 1938-S and 1939-S being the rarest two dates. The 1942-D has a D over horizontal D variety that is worth $50 and up in most circulated grades.

All 1939-dated nickels have two varieties (with and without a serif at the top of the "S" in PLURIBUS but there is not a significant value difference in circulated grades.

As for the Wheat Cents, the 1946-S has an S over D variety which is worth $35 and up in Very Fine and better. The 1941-S has both large and small S varieties. As I recall, the large S tends to be scarcer.

I know there are others, but those should be a good starting point for you. Good luck!

Wow! Also, sprinkled throughout the Lincoln cents could be nice examples of die cracks, die chips, lamination peels, and 'woodys'. I'd love to spend an afternoon or two working through the entire lot. Nice find!

The 1958-P nickel is a scarce date, and 1959-P is also not all that common. Both have the "Black Beauty" varieties to look for...
