Hello fellow coin enthusiasts! I came across this $1 bill while checking my serial numbers. I've never seen anything like it. (If it wasn't printed at the Treasury then someone has a sense of humor aimed at a very specific group!) As you can see from the pictures, the letter "K" is stamped to the SW of the actual K at the beginning of the serial number. The text format and size are almost identical but the color is obviously off. Does anyone have a clue what this might be from? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Possibly a part of a teller's stamp that fell outside a bundle wrapping strip on the top note. Did not come from the BEP this way.

Welcome to CCF l
The most commonly seen question seen here, especially from new collectors is, "What is this mark on my note ?" Most of the correct answers come from members with the understanding of how our banknotes are printed. A large, upper case black "K" is not normally seen anywhere on modern $1 FRNs. The large upper case "K" in green preceding the serial number is from a serial number print head that is being fed bulk green ink through tubing coming from a large vat of green ink. Knowing this eliminates it from any chance of it being a production error.
