It's a token. If it's not solid gold it's worth a dollar or two. If it is gold it's worth $10-20. I doubt that it is, but it's worth checking.

I take things like this into our local used jewelry/coin shop for an appraisal. The last thing I took in was a damaged ring I found in a parking lot that looked like cheap costume jewelry. They gave me $140 for it. I found the diamond later (it had popped out of the mount and was lying nearby), which is worth $300....the closest I've ever come to finding a gold nugget....

Id say if it is gold struck in 1857, I'll say the value is much higher like over 150.00 at least, via gold value and the historical age of it

It wasn't actually made in 1857. It's a replica, made in the mid-1900s for sale to tourists. Genuine territorial gold coins all carry a denomination on them.

These replicas are usually either made of gilt (that is, not-gold) or of low-fineness gold (such as 4 or 8 carat).
