Realize I live in south Louisiana, so this past weekend my ten-year-old granddaughter and I went the store and after I purchased something, I handed her my change and asked her if there was something interesting in our change. I hadn't even glanced at what the cashier handed me. Her reply was 'papa there is something wrong with Abraham Lincoln on this cent". Of course I said "well what"? "Abraham Lincoln turned into a woman" was her answer! In south Louisiana we rarely see Canadian pennies and she had never seen one. A little coin humor ! Remember this "You don't know how you look til you get your picture took" a Cajun proverb! maybe I should have posted this in a different forum. Anyway

Always cool to hear when Canadian coins pop up in far away places. Thanks for sharing.

I grew up in Maine in the 1960s and routinely got Canadian 1, 5, 10, and 25 cents in change. It is why I collect Canada large cents to this day.

Love it !
That could be the spark for a future coin collector, with the big fish schooling the small fry.

Laissez les bons temps rouler.

We do see Canadian pennies and a Canadian nickel from time to time. Maybe once every five years for me. Obviously I don't handle change as much as other people do. My occupation does not lend itself to much change.

You know change is inevitable except from a vending machine!
