It would help to show both sides of the coin and no, it is not a 3 1/2
legged Buffalo nickel if that is your question.
It is just a well worn nickel worth face value.

I don't really see 3 1/2 legs. Looks like a 4 legged buffalo to me.
Rest in Peace

Following are the possibilities for Denver in the 3 1/2 leg department.
1916-D
1917-D
1926-D
1927-D
1936-D

The 1936-D is the most extreme and most valuable of the bunch. The others vary depending on die state. Later die state exhibit more extreme signs of polishing, therefore eliminating more of the 1st leg and have a higher premium.

We can eliminate the 16-D and 17-D. They exhibit more Die Deterioration on the last rear leg than your example. Especially the 16-D which shows extreme deterioration across several parts of the Buffalo. We can also eliminate the 36-D as there is way too much of the front leg visible.

Mint mark location does not appear to match the 27-D, even for the proto 3HL which exhibits less removal of the leg.

Finally, the 26-D exhibits a strong die clash in EPU which yours does not.

IMO, not a 3 1/2 leg. But keep hunting, they are out there!
