Was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on my 1916 Lincoln Cent. Original, not artificial toning. Coin was acquired from Harlan J. Berk in Chicago.

I'd say it looks rather good. Very nice. Are you asking for a grade (not posted in the grading forum)?

It has the sheen and color of motor oil that is floating on a puddle of water after a short rain storm on a hot sunny day.

Lovely coin. Perhaps the spotting will hold the grade to MS-64BN.

It is going to cost you a bit to have it authenticated but you might get a decent reply.

Judging by the surfaces, strike and the give away... the hair! Yes. Matte Proof. Seriously nice and rare coin. Hopefully they don't sandbag you on the toning color. Looks original.. maybe stored in the wine cellar.. gives that red purple hue... Acetone will cause similar but it doesn't look spotty or blochy to me.. Nice!
