Would anyone be able to tell me if this damaged occurred at the mint? And if so is it valuable coin? I would appreciate any help, thank you.

@KK You say damage coin? you are wright except the appellative DAMAGE which must be BADLY DAMAGE.

Even if the damaged happened at the mint it happened after the coin was struck which just makes it a badly damaged coin

I'm seeing post-strike damage--of a rather heavy nature. The quarter did not leave the striking chamber in that condition. Not a mint error. We see a several similar coins monthly on this forum--all denominations. Worth a solid 25 cents.
