poor lighting. this are tough to photograph due to the reflective surfaces

I agree needs more lighting as with your other coin photos .

SMS and proofs are really hard for me to do. The phone blurs it bad. However, if this was an earlier date coin it would be a Close AM. Lol. Thanks for trying!

Everyone struggles with proofs. The reflective surfaces mess with all CCD-based cameras. Part of the reason why proofs cannot be accurately graded from pictures.

I found the trick is your light and it's location in relationship to the camera. If you get it right, you can illuminate the surfaces without "glaring out" the camera.

In this pic I cheated and angled the camera and light...but I had to sacrifice the white balance (the background is white). If you look at the shadow you can tell where my light source is:
