I've always loved finding wheat pennies so as I'm looking through my enormous jar of pennies for them, I'm noticing quite a few that just draw my attention. After becoming a part of this site, I came across a link mentioning a few rare penny finds and one happened to be a 1982-D bronze penny that would weigh 3.1g. I'm just really curious if I'm on the right track with this find and need to cling to this penny or if it's just another one I could put in a penny roll. Any and all responses are very appreciated, I'm still very fresh in all this coin collecting and it can get very overwhelming for me so this site is really a godsend. Thanks!
We need to see full, large and sharp images of the coin. A close-in of the date would be very welcome. Given the image posted, it's looking like a large date--not the small date which brings in big $$$.
I will get a good close up and now that you say it I do remember the post saying it was a small date. I'm sure my excitement fooled me but I appreciate the knowledge.:)
