1964 5 Cent Proof Rotated

Slight rotation of dies. Needs to be 45 degrees plus for a premium. Slight rotation of dies occur during a die clash. So less than 45 degrees is common. How much is 45 degrees?

Imagine a square with a line drawn better the two opposite corners. That is 45 degrees.

Best way to show the rotation on dies? Using a mirror to take a shot to show both sided of the coin in a single shot with a mirror.


If the mirror image is not upside down? If it is rotated at all it should be upside down on U.S. coins. Some countries us medal alignment and the obverse and reverse will look normal. But on U.S. coins they will look like this if they are normal.

Note how here holds the 2X2 on edge? That is a very good way to do this with the square tubes.

I don't think this coin is rotated much if any, the obverse does not look centered exactly, even though if it is, it is too minor as coop stated.
