Good early morning Coin Community. What is going on with this 1964 Nickel? I like it whatever it is.

Please tell us your questions in detail and properly crop photos before posting. I see a coin that looks like it was once buried. Not an error or variety.

Apologies Mr. John. The weight is off and it has the color of a Lincoln Cent.

Just looks like environmental damage from whatever it has been exposed to.
Keep it if you like but there is no added value.

Could this be a alloy issue? I'm seeing no sign of the shiny Copper/Nickel surface anywhere on this coin, not even in the deep scratches and gouges.
