Yhis one is tough to judge. We all know it's the first year of memorial and new reverse design. I am thinking the mint wants to put on a good show. Do the 1959 and 1959-d have to be a little better at least subconsciously, Will this coin help me on my journey?

Might be to weak a strike. It is a beautiful color.
Hopefully soon I will be able to show you the coin from an actual camera.

I can't see more than a 3 point deduction on this based on the pictures.

Hey BadThad, I know you have played the submission game. I am working my way through every year common or not. I want to minimize my submission mistakes. In a different thread I said I use the eye test, then the 5 power loupe, Then the coin microscope. Each has it's own merits. Is the coin visually appealing? The hand loupe picks up hairlines and scuff marks that the scope sees right through. The loupe cannot see the whole coin at once for mistakes. The scope picks up contact marks from every angle if you slowly rotate the coin as you go. The problem with the scope is that it magnifies the contact marks out of proportion. Please anyone add to the ways to improve my skills. I have close to 150 slabbed coins from ms-63 thru ms-68 from PCGS,NGC,ANACS,ICG, and NNC that I have used for reference.

Nice MS66+ for me. Since third party grading is done by humans, there will always be a subjective gray area.
