Quote: Is It Possible To Magnify Too Closely? Yes it is. If you magnify any coin enough, you are pretty sure to find some sort of anomoly. I believe professional graders only use a 10X loupe and if they can't see anything then, it is insignificant. Most major errors you can see without any magnification. Photo curtisy PCGS

when you start seeing atoms, you've magnified too closely.

Yes, get the electron microscope out.
The book 'Strike It Rich'? Just keep everything in perspective and have a sense of humor...

T-BOP. I have actually done that. I have a microscope that I look at coins with. There have been a few times that I see mites crawling around on pennies that are smaller than the center of the mintmark.

. To answer your question, yes. You can also post way too many photos per post. Your full coin pic needs to be properly rotated before posting as well. Do you have a question about your dime? John1

Yes you can magnify to a point that you cannot determine what you are seeing. mites, huh? Now I know why some folks are using a blow torch on some coins..

Too many photos, and too many non-sharp photos. Other than the question about magnification, what is your question about your coin for us? Quote: I got the book 'Strike it Rich..' for Christmas....Am I taking it too serious? Yes! to the CCF!

T, yes really. I hesitated to post this. Don't know what they would be, but they were in old bags of Wheaties. They are white to translucent. And actually, they were so small they they fit inside of the R in liberty.
