Quote: I think it's far more likely a handful of copper blanks were left behind in a hopper or tote and mixed in with copper plated zinc blanks that certainly is possible and more plausible.

No, it is worth 1 cent. It is the 1982D Small Date COPPER coin that is worth money. That's why I pointed out that yours is a zinc cent

Quote: How can you tell its zinc? By the zinc dust bubbles behind Lincolns head. If you want to double check just weigh it. A zinc cent weighs 2.5g, a cooper cent weighs 3.11g. Correct typo

Will be posting a new topic on this, purchased an PCGS MS67 1982-D small date cent on ebay. David Lawrence Rare Coins, the seller, confirmed description details to me, that the coin was previously confirmed to be 95% copper 5% zinc, and weighs 3.1g even. This was an $80 cherry pick. PCGS graded pre-2016 and no attributes are provided since pre-2016 no small date copper were believed to exist. Will post soon with full photos.
