I can't find any details on this either token or medal on 1 side the writing is Alfred von Schlieffen, Graf Alfred, von Schlieffen
28.02.1833 - 4.01.1914
Alfred von a was famous in the German military just before ww1

other side Deutsche militargeschichte

approx 43-44 mm wide 3mm thick and weighs 28.11 gr non magnetic
any ideas what it is or why it was made as I can't find another 1

This is a modern medal, one of a series about German Militairy History. It was issued by the firm of Goede (mark: crowned G in shield). Goede is a prolific issuer of medals for collectors. Another medal from the same series can be found here: https://www.ma-shops.com/schmuckstu....php?id=5002
