Marvel work. How did you even think to look at this and think medal? I will look at the dimensions and weight later to confirm.

Oriole's answer is great..there are remarkable people who contribute on this site.

Specifically though, when I saw your example the dual bust stood out as a medal from UK and the crown style narrowed down the ruler

I knew there are dozens of marriage, coronation, visits, and so on medals issued like that ...and knowing the "prosperity " angle really helped too.

Your medal looks like a dug find to me...I metal detect as well and identifying crusty old coppers comes naturally to me now lol....plus I love the challenge of nailing down a mystery
