Your guys really helped me last time. Now I am looking at this Fort Vancouver comm, but it does not look real to me. Am I correct? Edited by russell1256 02/01/2022 1:13 pm

Counterfeit. I think nearly all of the Commemorative 50 cents have been counterfeited so be sure of what you are buying.

Not a genuine piece. Steer clear!

I'm late to the party but 100% agree that is not a genuine example.

Ping tone comparison with a common .900 fine Half Dollar should prove fake or otherwise.

Quote: One look is all that is needed. I agree with commems - but it also causes me to question how such a skill is developed to be sure with 'one look' that this is an obvious counterfeit. This is a topic likely deserving of it's own thread, so in the spirit of brevity I'll simply suggest that acquiring solid knowledge of what a genuine example looks like is the key tool for any collector concerned about counterfeits. I've likely seen hundreds of genuine Ft. Vancouver halves in my collecting years, and my eyes instantly told my brain wrong font, wrong portraits and wrong color. What else goes into 'one look' Counterfeit Detection? edited for spgglening

I certainly agree that appears to be fake, but the OP may need an alternative confirmation.
