This 1926 Sesquicentennial Silver Half Dollar Commemorative weighs in at 12.47g
This coin was originally struck with a low profile, as a result most coins are badly worn and have lost their details on the high points. I think this one is in real good shape.

Quote:
The US minted the Sesquicentennial half dollar with no mint mark. There were no other series issued for this commemorative coin. These coins were struck with low-relief dies so many coins have lost a lot of detail. For this reason, coins in the higher grades can sell for thousands of dollars.

This one appears to have some harsh cleaning, it has cross stitch scratches.

I saw that too, but it only seems to be on the fields all parallel. I thought that they may be roller lines. I cannot see the lines on the bell.

Based on the images, I would grade the coin XF - Details (Cleaned).

The 1926 American Sesquicentennial half dollars typically lack details because of their low-relief strike, even if in mint state. I've seen a good number of mint state coins that lack details and do not exhibit a fully-struck cheek on Washington's portrait. The lack of details often seen can not simply be attributed to circulation wear.

Concur with commems grade opinion - this coin exhibits ample circulation wear and has been cleaned.

Actually, most coins left the mint without much in the way of details on the high points due to the fact that this coin was designed and struck with the lowest relief of any classic silver commemorative. It did not take 'wear' to achieve the flat look.

With MS coins the wear on all of the high points is not present, but luster on those high points remains.

With AU coins, a bit harder to discern if there IS minimal wear or light strike, because luster on those high points is not present.

Well it is a shame that it has been cleaned, but I like the detail that show on this coin. It is destined for my 7070 album Commemorative Half Dollar hole), until I can find an unclean coin to replace it.
That is the major issue with buying online coins, most times you can't tell if it had been cleaned or not and the seller won't stare that fact.

Thanks for the comments on this coin.
