The seller can keep on believing;

"I believe this to be a GENUINE COUNTERFEIT HENNING NICKEL"

Doesn't exhibit the telltale loop in the "R" and to my knowledge, none of the Henning's were mintmarked. There is supposed to be an unaccounted for date for these but I doubt it would be this date. Didn't Henning get arrested in 1952?

The only way to stop this sort of thing is to REPORT the item, and I encourage all of you to do so.

Next time, please post the seller's user name - that way I/We can put them onto a 'do not buy from list'.

wouldn't be the first time someone counterfeited a counterfeit coin (especially the Henning's)

Wasn't a counterfeit, it was a genuine 1954 nickel,
just not a Henning's nickel.

After I first contacted the seller, I received a steady barrage of filthy e-mails (8 or more) in the following hour. I then reported the item in the usual fashion, explaining that Henning nickels dated 1954 are not recognized by authorities on the subject, but didn't really expect action. Perhaps they reviewed his e-mails and then took it down. Or perhaps (more likely) bobby and others reported it as well.

Ah, ok. thanks. I didn't get a chance to see the listing before it was taken down.

It is quite sad, that you were subjected to that. Thankfully you got it taken down, and hopefully that seller banned...
