1977 Quarter Die Crack? - Coin Community Forum

Someone told me the lines around it are just damage from coin machine so I'm referring to the line going down, starting at the T. Is this a die Crack? Ty in advance Report this Post to the Staff

Dearborn Moderator United States 94636 Posts	Posted 02/11/2022 07:54 am Well it could be, hard to tell. Is it raised above the field or is it incused below it? When talking pictures, use only one light source, from an angle to create subtle shadows. This helps us to determine if an anomaly is raised or not by comparing to known landmarks on a coin. This could be a scratch on the coin, or a scratch on the die also. (Depending if it is raised or not.) Collecting since 1972. Learning from then on "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember.
