One step forward two step back. Anyone else wonder why US coins cost so much more? *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

I think the biggest factor on pricing is simply market demand.

Hokiefan- I agree, but from a silver stacking perspective that walker was a naughty purchase hehe. I should be buying these under melt, instead. I do agree though, supply and demand make US stuff tricky to get at reasonable premiums.

So I am very new to this numismatics business. After looking at the coin... I notice it has no cartwheel luster and looks scratched. Also there is wear on the eagle. I have messaged the seller. Since it is ebay, I am fairly certain I can get a full refund. It's unfortunate I checked the seller's reviews and they have over 200 negative reviews but a 99% positive rating

Looks like a cleaned AU Walker, probably worth little more than melt.

Zurie... I concur
I put in for the refund and got the code.
So it turns out I had a great week. Even go silver under melt!!!
Once that refund comes through.

In my defense guys, the coin was sold with a stock photo.

Yes please explain . Are you saying a stock photo of another BU Walker was shown by seller ? Did the seller state in their listing that they use stock photos ? If so It's not a good idea to buy coins using stock pics .

I fully agree with tony. if a seller states that the item shown is a stock photo, I'll pass on it. I have been down that road once or twice and (hopefully) never again.

Totally confused. The original Walker is clearly not MS. You bought this particular one or did not buy it?

I never buy any coin from a stock photo. That walker looks AU dipped.

Good thing you get a refund, just wasted your time. Lessons learned.
