Also is this a brittish coin or a north borneo (sabah) coin
It is from British North Borneo, also known as North Borneo, and now known as the Malaysian state of Sabah.
The British North Borneo Company, whose name and coat of arms appear on this coin, lost direct rule over British North Borneo when it became a Protectorate in 1888. The company retained presence and business in the colony after 1888, so I guess the Colonial authorities chose not to confuse the locals by redesigning the coinage.
