This is my first attempt at photos of cents. Insanely difficult. The carbon spots really pop. They are almost invisible to the naked eye. I have noticed two types of finishes. On rare occasion I see a mirror type finish and others come out a little frosty as this one has. Anyway, any comments on photos, how the spots effect grade, how the two types of 'eye appeal' finishes effect grade, and what grade this might be will be greatly appreciated as I am taking on yet another series in my grading education.

Probably very strong luster, these are generally bright coins but mint spots are the problem. IMO, in 2009 the TPG grading standards changed for Lincolns. Some minor hits were forgiven if a coin had "less" distracting spotting. Seems like all issues since 2009 are plagued with spots which are an artifact of the corrosion inhibitor they've been using.

65, 66 depending on the distractions

Thanx badthad
I was between 64-65 but you definitely helped with the spotting question. I'll keep going through my rolls for practice before I work my way back to my 2005-2011 rolls.

As far as the eye appeal for the mirrored fields vs. a more matte is there any noticeable grade difference? Does the eye appeal effect maybe a quarter or half grade bump one way or another?
Rest in Peace

MS-64RD , Those spots look more like water or sneeze spots . Not carbon spots .
