My roll of 2022 quarters that has a few pieces with some folded rim fins also had this quarter in it. I don't know much about coins or errors but thought this might be considered annealing? Bottom quarter is just for reference of "regular" piece.

It would be helpful if you were able to show the true color in your images, under lighting exposure if not helping.

Will do. Sorry about that. took that in natural light in kitchen but it definitely changes look depending on how pictures is taken.

Looks like the stock material had some staining on that area.

Thank you for the note. This helps me understand why the first time I saw the quarter the stained area was obviously darker than the rest of the quarter but the next day in different light I may not have noticed anything if I hadnt already seen it look darker the night before. Is staining like this common, personally I think looks kinda cool.
