They need to adapt to include an extra marker or 2 that shows some easy to see markers to make ID's easy and fast. I don't know about the first photo of the Obv 1, but it may be a 1a/1, not a straight Obv 1. Theyt need to make sure that they photo an 1876 to show a true Obv 1, without the '81' and 2's that have overpunches. They also missed explaining the difference between the Obv 3's and 3a's (their invention). Almost all of the Obv 3's (the mumps portrait) have the long extended crossbar on the N's for Obv 3's (or 3a that they have there). It's the easiest way to tell an Obv 2 from a 3. However, a great effort to clarify some things. Where did you find this CaC section? I can't get it from the CaC site, but it IS on the translated French site. I agree with Okie on adding some other markers. Edit to add: another marker to watch is the shape of the eyelid.
