Could this possibly be a glue on coin or a die crack error on Lincoln's face to neck? I was watching the so called errors video - Richard cooper and I'm not sure. It could just be a regular scratch, but maybe I found something good. Let me know and thank you.

@luck, my initial thought was that it was surface staining--perhaps this cent spent some time in a fountain or cup holder. Can you tell us if this black line is above the surrounding surface, flush, or below?
