I Found the abovementioned coin in my change and I am a little confused about it. In my Maccas it says that it was released in colour folder and cased proof, but nothing about circulation. Did I misunderstand or is the book wrong?

goodaye grendelfreak, I presume you are talking about the 2005 School student design coin for the commonwealth games. If it is this coin has just been release (last month or so) for circulation. Other Games coins are dated 2006 so I hope I am right.
