Do Dansco albums cause tonning, or any kind of damage to coins. Because I am thinking of buying some, and I am wondering how they are.

I have been using Dansco albums for years and have had no problems with toning. There are some members here who have however I have not and I have 16 of there albums.

I haven't heard anything bad about Dansco albums. Really have no experience, since I just bought my first one last year. Never been big on them, saw them at many coin shows but just never could bring myself to pay $20 + dollars out of my coin budget when I could get coins with the money. Just ordered $150 in Dansco albums - not received yet, so guess I'm in the game now. Ordered from http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com - really great prices.

The only issue I have with Dansco albums is that you have to make sure the clear plastic slides totally cover the coins, sometimes the slide will go too high or too low in the page and leave part of the coins unprotected then it will tone in that area.

Dansco has been my choice. I like the appearance they offer and I have had no coin damage (that I know of).

Also, make sure the coin is not too high or too low in the hole, so the plastic slides don't rub across the coin surfaces. Worse yet, so the edge of the plastic slides don't do the same.

And using gloves is a Good Idea™.

I have been using Dansco albums since 1984. No problems. I would say that how and were you store them has an affect on how well they protect your coins.
