Information please? This has my curious, sorry if pictures do not do justice. Sworn description is as follows ,line is raised and not gouged. Raised going faint on Washington's lower left neck above (rt) in quarter and is raised passing over the rim. Knowledge appreciated. Thanks.

Question is there a trench in that area. if so it could be damage to the coin. If the bottom of the trench is rounded it could mean two things. (one good, one bad) If it is flat that means it is a coin scratch with a knife blade.So if it looks like this:
2004-Iowa-State-Quarter It is damage, even though the sides are showing a raised area. That is where the metal that was in the trench was move to. On a die crack it is raised and flows over the fields and devices. (but if the coin is circulated a lot, this raised area on the tops of devices can be worn off in circulation.

I will try and get a better lens to view this with. As it does seem pretty straight which raises red flags.

Also in the second image the shadow makes it look just like an irregular line that rises like the moved metal images I posted.

Update with a sacrificed camera lens which hopefully prevent more wasted time, it is a scratch. I repeat it is a scratch I could barely make out the canyon grove.
