Pulled these two out of a dealer's cull bin a couple days ago. The tapered planchet really isn't even a cull grade so happy with that one. But since the missing elements are essentially in the same place, I thought it would make a nice comparison photo for a tapered planchet vs a Struck Through Grease error.

Note on the tapered planchet the weakness of the strike removes the crisp rim, and also shows on both the date on the obverse and the shield on the reverse. Usually just the loss of the rim is enough to tell them apart, but here the difference between a weak shield and a worn shield is also fairly easy to see.

The first one must be either 1896 or 1906 due to the placement of the last feather. I'm leaning towards 1896.

1886 is also a possibility. It comes with both hub types.
