I have tried to identify this coin in several books and at several net sites. It seems to be a Mugul coin, perhaps a dam. One side resembles coins of Akbar, the other side resembles nothing I can find. It is 20mm across, 6 mm thick, and weighs 20.3g. Could you help me with identity, ruler, date range, and denomination? Is there a catalog number? Thank you, just trying to get as good an identification as possible so I can trace its history.

Welcome!
This could well be a copper dam of Akbar. I didn't see a match on a quick look through Zeno, but there are many varieties and they don't necessarily have them all. Hopefully one of our Indian coin experts will be able to help. If you don't get an answer here you can try posting on the World of Coins Mughal board, http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/in...rd,62.0.html, where there are more Indian experts.
