This silver brooch has a silver coin enclosed in it. It was brought over by relatives way back from Poland or Slavakia. That is the story I heard but who knows.Coin is size of fifty cents.

I can never get my photos to get big.Just found the bottom picture without stars and crescents and image is from a 10 Para Turkish coin.

It looks Arabic or Indian to me.

1327 AH 1909 TURKEY OTTOMAN Sultan Mehmed V Resad OLD Silver 5 Kurus Coin i99336 it is close to this coin but a little different on letters.

The coin is indeed Ottoman, probably 10 Kurush depending on the exact size, but the correct date is AH 1293 from the top photo which is upside down. I cannot see the regnal year in the second photo, but you should be able to see it in hand
