Hello,

I am going to take a closer look at these two when I'm not next near the shop, but any preliminary leads on these two coins?

Cut/chopped/clipped 8 reale? And?

Thanks in advance and I'll let the forum know when I get a chance to weigh and inspect closer..
If it's worth it...

Question - if you don't know much about these types, why would you want to buy them?

Doesn't necessarily have to be followed literally, but as the saying goes "buy the book before the coin".

@Reales... That's what I'm doing ... Buying the book. I doubt I will buy them on Friday, but they are interesting to me, I haven't seen coins like them before and I would like to learn some more.

I kind of take the forum as my 'book' or at least the starting point of my research . . .

The tornese is a French gros tournois, from the somewhat blurry picture I'm guessing from 1290-95 (Philip IV). Seeing the other side would be good of course.

@era... Thanks! I will take some pictures, weights, and a much closer look tomorrow. I was at this shop a few days ago with limited time and couldn't get in the case... I appreciate the information.
