I live in Michigan. Michigan exempts sales tax on bullion. I don't buy a lot of bullion on ebay but lately I've noticed that I'm mistakenly being charged sales tax. I usually use ebay for filling in series I forgot to get when they were first issued. I hate doing it because I have to pay more. I complained to ebay and they seem to think I am correct but I have yet to see a refund. Have you guys encountered this? My apologies to those who live in states or countries that tax bullion.

Maybe seller has item listed in multiple categories and one of them is a taxable category? I live in a state where collectible coins aren't taxable, but have been charged tax because seller also had them listed in supply category because they were in an album.

Yes, I am in Colorado and should not be charged sales tax on coins/bullion, but I always am now on ebay. I have called ebay before and was able to get the sales tax refunded a few days later, but it is a time-consuming solution for a relatively small amount of money. It is very frustrating that they are charging taxes when they should not be, and has resulted in me making fewer purchases on ebay.

Was that recently that you were able to get through to them? They owe me $458.54 from over two months ago. I'd like to talk to somebody, but all I can get is the online customer service.
