No my pics where worse but the seller does photo shop them to make them look like a frosty look.

I saw these listings a while back and they are for all gem bu coins so I thought I would buy some and I did now they re all at NGC getting submitted so I was just posting these to see what the grades would be but there's too many grouchy people here for a forum so lost interest in this coin forum can't post anything without a bunch of trolls coming out of nowhere over a fun what do you thing the grade is post

Guessing you're going to be hugely disappointed with the results of submitting these coins for grading, and hope you'll be honest in reporting these results back to us, but I'll bet you won't.

The images had too much light and I simply could not provide an accurate grade, so I passed on providing a grade. Taking photos of coins that can be accurately graded from photo is no easy task. When I first looked at your coin the cheek and neck looked AU58, but I could not see the fields and details properly to determine if the coin was MS or AU.

What's the best light to use I tried taking pictures in sunlight but it was too bright and the lamp I used was also too bright maybe I had the coins too close

I have gone to using daylight LED desk lamp with a white back ground that I can move around to get the best light, and it works OK on most coins. Photographing a MS Morgan with strong luster as it looks in hand can be difficult because the coin puts off a lot of reflection.

My guess on your photos the coin color is not correct as the coin appeared to be picking up the back ground color.

If your desk light is too strong then you can use tissue paper over the top to diffuse the light. Or simply angle the light from less than 45 degrees angle tilted at the coin. Basically play around and it helps to have the camera plugged into a desktop moniter with liveview so you can see properly.

Friendly advice -- if people in this forum seem a bit critical or forceful in their opinions at times -- it is often because they are trying to keep you from paying way too much money for problem coins and at the same time educate you on what to look for to avoid buying them in the first place. When people do buy those coins, and then realize later if they have to sell them they won't get back but a small percentage of what they paid, it tends to leave a bad taste in their mouth and sour them on collecting and the hobby as a whole.

Good grading practice requires clear photos that accurately reflect the actual coin as seen "in hand" to the best of your abilities. This is why it is more difficult to assign a grade to your coin -- the photos make it difficult to tell luster, surface disturbances, and other issues that would negatively (or positively) affect the grade.

That being said, as a community, it's important for us all to remember that everyone was new once. I've been collecting for 30+ years and can handle any criticism anyone throws at my coins, strong or otherwise. But if someone posting here that's new to the community is getting hammered pretty hard on every single post, that's not a good thing either, since they may get discouraged from posting or even from collecting at all. Honest opinions are always beneficial, but such opinions should be kept to the merits of the coin, not redirected into attacks on the poster. You can educate someone without making them feel like an idiot.
