Weight is 2.55 grams, diameter is 15mm.

It looks like an Abbasid fals of some sort. You need to rotate the images 90 degrees anti-clockwise.

Thanks for the reply, I'll do some searching. Here they are rotated as you say. The coin is silver or at least silver in colour.
Could it be an ancient Dirham of some form?
