Thanks Dearborn. I think roller lines are restricted to one side. I'm no expert so I can't say what's going on here for sure. Here's a picture of the edge though

Looks promising. Can we see a picture of the edge? The edge on an improperly annealed coin should still be bright

In general on clad improper annealing it is characterized by the color give by the Cu ions which move to the surface of the planchet. Your coin do not have this. Me I see an unproperly polish planchet and the unclean rolling residual burn on the surface in the procedures of annealing which is not improper annealing.

Thanks Silviosi. I don't know exactly what's it is. The true cause has yet to be determined. These need to be factored into the equation also. These came from the same place

Annealing can be characterized by many colors besides copper. I have seen a coin graded with the crescent shape and labeled improperly annealed on ebay. I could be wrong

Thanks Silviosi. Yes that one has striation lines on both sides also. There are copper and there are black ones labeled the same. That one happens to be black and copper with the crescent shape and striation lines. I think there are enough similarities to say they are the same
