If you didn't see it, here's an interesting Coin World article about a modification in Jefferson's hair on the $2 FRN. I checked my notes and the change is noticeable, although my 2013 KA note has the darker hair and not the lighter hair that the article indicates it would have.

I see what they're talking about. The difference is particularly noticable in Jefferson's hair.

The article states the series 2013 FA blockc contains the older design, but I have found only the newer hair in that block. This suggests a subset of FA has the older design. My Series 2013 F* note is of the older design, as the article states.

The first scan below shows the older design from a Series 2009 LA block, the second scan shows the newer design from a Series 2013 LA block. The red arrows point to areas on the newer design with noticeable differences in the hair.

I flipped through some circulated $2s and found a few Series 2013 FA block with the old hair. The highest serial number I've found to have lighter (old) hair is F15392355A. The lowest serial number I've found to have darker (new) hair is F27239973A.

You are Welcome!

You can be forgiven since the Auto-link to Coin World hides it.
