Welcome to CCF!
I am doing something similar, assembling a Dutch Type Set (1815-2001, 90 coins). I bought a Lighthouse Optima coin album with slipcover and coin sheets that hold twelve 2x2 coin flips. The advantage is that you can buy coin flips for any coins size, while the coin sheet pockets are standardized.

That will be a very nice type set once completed. May I ask why you exclude certain earlier types, like 1 franc before 1871? You can certainly find most, maybe all, missing types at French (online) dealers, for instance https://www.cgbfr.com/boutique,modernes.html

with erafjel - French dealers are your best bet. I collect French coins too. Being in the UK it's easier for me to get over there. Good range of coin shops in the Rue Vivienne if you ever go to Paris! I'd also recommend Monnaie Magazine if you read French: https://www.monnaie-magazine.com/More recent coin types that you have excluded are the silver 10 francs from 1965-73, the small nickel 1986 10 francs, the 50 francs from 1974-80 and 100 francs from 1982-2001 - although some dates were issued in sets only, these coins were obtainable at the time of issue from banks at face value and I can assure you from personal experience that they actually did circulate! You could also include one example of a circulating commemorative from each denomination from 1F to 100F. French coins are fascinating and although rare dates mean that there are 'stoppers' if you want to collect most denominations by date, many types are readily available in decent condition as the frequent changes of design plus the revaluation of 1960 meant that they were only in circulation for a few years.

So I use a cheap 2x2 coin holder album now but it would be nice to have a good album. Just have not seen one made like a dansco or whitman. So as for the actual list, I excluded some mainly for two reasons, one being its hard to find any of these coins in any coin shop in the south of the US, I think that is because people dont really collect foreign and if they do its usually German or Spanish countries. Secondly this is just a fun side coin project of mine, I mainly collect US coins and dont want to spend crazy money on French silver haha. I have to much tied up in US. With that being said I love the French designs, and its a fun side project. Thanks

I've done it in bits and pieces over the years, but not past the 1930's. I like 2F silver from the branch mints the most. They are not easy to find, but they do show up on both French and US ebay, as well as from the French specialist dealers like cgb.fr. French coins also show up in coin shops, both in junk bins and by country. Years ago I found a shop in Portland OR that had three coin notebooks full of nothing but French coins. I seemed to be the only customer, and over a couple years I pulled dozens of coins out of those books. Lots of scarce date Napoleon III copper, up to AU grade, and priced many years behind current market. The dealer seemed happy just to get rid of them.

Nice idea. I am not aware of an album similar to the Whitman type for French coins. To have an idea of awhat exists at what price, I would recommend the site http://www.lefranc.netI have several types you are missing, including some present in your list and missing there. Many are not expensive. Should you be interested into a swap, I am still looking for many US-coins (small cent to dime), please sed me a PM.

maudry, I may take you up on the offer, however it seems I cant actually send you a email or personal message because I'm a new user, seems a little strange. Since I posted this I've acquired many more on my list it seems now the ones difficult to get are the 20 centimes, any chance anyone has any to spare?

Thank you for all the responses, I'm going to add the updates to the list I'm really only missing a couple now. The early silver 20 centimes are still hard to get though. I know the new euro stuff is super easy to get but people on ebay want crazy money for them haha, I guess ill have to wait till the next time I go to France.

Regarding the €2/€1 coin: France has changed the design on the reverse of its ''regular'' (or standard) €1 and €2 coins. So, two more for a type set. So its: €1: 1999-2021 €1: 2022- €2: 1999-2021 €2: 2022-- and yes, the €1 is mint-set only starting 2003 The German wikipedia has pictures of the new design: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz...om%C3%BCnzenAnd don't forget that the obverse of the 10c, 20c, 50c, €1 and €2 coins was changed in 2007. So it's actually: 1999-2006 2007-2021 2022--
