I had a little time while my wife was running errands. I found an online newspaper article from the August 14, 1917 Stockton Independent about an "H.C. Leffingwell" purchasing the "Sutter Market" in Stockton, California in 1917. I have no idea if this is even remotely connected to the trade token, but it's at least a possibility. Hope this helps!
