...hope you guys aren't tired of me asking for help yet.

to me, this looks like an RPM. Possibly even triple punched.

Any help on identification (or correcting my assumption that this coin is an RPM) would be appreciated.

thanks john!

my head hurts from scrutinizing pictures on coppercoins.com

amazing site but I cant find this one on there.

edit: I'm sure it is a small date. The tops of the 1 and 9 are even, the 6 has a long tail, and the 0 is nearer oblong than circular. :)

You are correct that this is an RPM. It also appears that you are correct in that this could be a tripled punching. As to the exact die to which this belongs - that would take closer study than I can give on a message board with images. I would have to study the coin in person.

chuck, you are the man. thanks for affirming my suspicions.

after you've done so a couple more times maybe I'll stop asking so many questions 8-)

would this coin carry any kind of premium because of the RPM? or is it so small that it is rather negligible?

It would have some premium value because it is listable - a few dollars. If it so happens that this is a new die and is photographed as the plate coin for the die, then it may have more value to some, especially if no more examples of the given die are found.

Doesn't a long tail 6 indicate a large date?

Yes, sorry. The tail of the 6 on my coin is actually short (and a small date.)

Thanks for pointing that out!
