Hello all,
I was going through a lot of my mother in laws coins that she collected through the years. She worked at a bank and saw a lot of different coins, many are foreign. I ran across this coin that looks really old. Not sure if it's real or a fake. I have tried to ID it and no luck. Maybe some expert on here can give me some insight and information, it would be greatly appreciated.

It definitely qualifies as really old. It is a Roman bronze coin from the 320s AD, of "camp gate" type, under Constantine the Great or one of his sons. It is too worn to say which of those emperors or which mint, but here are some examples of a Constantine the Great coin of this type: https://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric....295?lang=en

Its condition is too worn for it to have any value, but if your mother in law picked it up in her bank, that is quite fascinating! Finding Roman coins in circulation in today's US must be completely extraordinary

Thank you for the reply and information. Unfortunately my mother in law passed away several years ago so I can't ask her about this coin. I'm happy to have this old of a coin to add to my collection.
