@pat, this looks like a medieval French Denier. I'm going to move this thread over to that subforum to get some good eyes on it.

Ok think I found it, but let's let someone confirm. With inscriptions of M*COMITISSA and NIVERNIS CIVIT, this seems to be a Denier of the French County of Nevers and dates to the 13th Century. Here is the numista link:
