I haven't really read up on toning. And this is the first I've come across one. It's sort of pretty with blues and maroonish red. Hard to tell in the pictures. How do you tell what's aged and what's been done by someone?

I suspect it's toning caused by 'random' exposure to an environmental agent or two--perhaps spent a little time in moist soil then washed off a while later. Just an opinion.

Looks like environmental toning. Lacking eye appeal.
